Financial crisis

This afternoon at lunch I was reading an article in TIME magazine about the current financial crisis in our country and how we got here. I don't keep up with current events well because I get so worked up about things and feel I have little control to change them. I found this article to be quite disturbing. $700 billion dollars for a bail out?! Where are they going to get that from? From our pockets-- that's where.

I asked my husband in a bout of frustration, "Why should our tax dollars help bail out a bunch of greedy Wall street tycoons who don't know the basic principles of debt management?!"

My husband answered calmly, "No, honey, OUR tax dollars go to support the National Parks."

"Oh."

Then lets take a vacation!

That's a good way of thinking about it. Wise Caleb! Thanks for posting this.

Hilarious! It is crazy how much money our government spends on non-essentials, isn't it? I know what you mean about feeling frustrated and without any options to actually change anything.
