waiting and waiting...

Our internet service has been very sporadic, but the issue was solved yesterday, so we hope to be back to posting a little more regularly.

We are waiting on the arrival of our little guy. Anna is 38 weeks along and her OB said it would likely be "sooner as opposed to later" and "any day now" (but she said that a week and a half ago). At first there was a flurry of activity and excitement - we figured he'd come closer to his due date on the 27th and we still had a few things to get done - but now we are just waiting...and waiting...and waiting. He'll come when he wants to come and we'll be there for it!

It's been too hot here to do much of anything lately. Anna was going to the pool at the Y, but even the pool has been warm lately. The forecasters are saying this compares to the summer of 1980 - one of the warmest on record. We've been at temperatures (not heat indexes) of well over 100 for over a week and a half. No rain (or end to the heat) in sight. And to think that only 25 years ago in the early eighties, there was a Newsweek article discussing the alarming nature of global cooling! My how science is fickle.

It is "Elvis Week" here in the big M. We are hosting people all over the world as they come to celebrate the 30th anniversary of his death. Impersonators abound and the city is awash with Elvis paraphenalia - local coffee Elvis blends, Reese's peanut butter bannana cups, and three Pez dispensers with different Elvis heads. It's quite interesting.
Here's a photo of us taken at Joshua's wedding. All for now - C

We look forward to hearing your happy news. Try and get LOTS of sleep if possible. Also, enjoy every minute. I loved being in the hospital and experiencing all the joys of being a new mom. I'm sure each baby is wonderful and exciting, the first is just amazing and surreal.

As anxious as you may be, try and get as much sleep as possible and indulge in all of your time alone together. Once that little one makes its debut it isn't going anywhere for a long, long time!
