Expectations

"Open the door to all of God's unexpected JOYS."
This is a quote Caleb and I heard recently, and I have been thinking about expectations ever since. I like to have things planned out, and know what is around the corner. So you can imagine our surprise, when, rather unexpectedly, we found out we were expecting.
Yes, we're expecting!
We know that this is a blessing from the Lord, and are excited to see what joys He has for us in this new little life! We found out 3 days before we left for Haiti, so you can see it did not feel like the best timing, and I have been sick ever since with nausea (etc), while my husband has been spending hours on call this month and is barely home to help me off the couch! Some days are worse than others, and sweet little Bryson is being very good and sleeping well, and playing contentedly while I mourn my existence, I mean, rejoice in this marvelous time!
I am due Sept 20th, and just had an ultrasound yesterday and was amazed to see our tiny little baby (about one inch long) with arms and legs and I could even see a tiny foot with 5 perfect little toes! I am so thankful for this gift and know the Lord's timing is perfect and He knows exactly what is best for our family, so we are rejoicing in many ways despite the hardships. Thank you for rejoicing with us!
Anna

Yeah! I'm so happy for you all. However, I'm sorry that you are feeling so badly. Hopefully you'll start feeling better soon. Bryson sounds like such a good little boy. He's already helping his mommy out.

Oh, I can sympathize! Even though you are thrilled to know a little life is living inside of you, when you experience morning sickness it takes a lot of effort to rejoice throughout the day. Just keep reminding yourself how worth it it will be! Ethan always talks about how bored he would be without Simon and how glad he is that God gave him to us - and I think Bryson will feel the same way, soooo glad to have a sibling.

Hang in there though - I know it's hard to get anything done during this time, but that's okay! You can catch up later - be sure to lay around lots.

Love to you!

Congratulations! This last one was a surprise for us, too, but we quickly found ourselves rejoicing!

Congrats you guys! Elisha and Abi are only 17 months apart...and are the best of friends. It is hard to keep up with a little one while not feeling well; we will be praying for all of you through this time! I am glad you made it through your trip to Haiti. How good to trust Him and rest in His timing!
