(storm front as seen over Memphis, Tennessee)You may or may not have heard, but today, Super Tuesday will be remembered in this part of the South for the super storm that hit Arkansas, Kentucky, and Tennessee.
Currently at this early hour, there are seven fatalities attributed to this storm, three of which are in Memphis. Pray for all the affected families, especially for the students and faculty at Union University (my old alma mater) as it received a direct hit. According to the Jackson Sun, there are eight students trapped in the dorms. The students who are trapped are talking with emergency responders, President Dockery has said. ‘‘The dorms have been reduced to piles of rubble of around them,’’ Ellsworth (Union's PR guy) said. ‘‘I know we had students huddled in the bathrooms.’’‘‘A couple of buildings have almost completely collapsed and the roof of Jennings Hall is almost completely gone,’’ Ellsworth said. The damage to buildings on campus is 10 times worse than it was when tornadoes hit the university in 2002, Dockery said.
More to come I'm sure. Safe home for now, and one day...safely home for good. - C

So thankful you are safe. I knew of the warnings but didn't know where the tornado had touched down. What a disaster for your alma mater! Your comment on safe for now, and one day.. safely home for good is true for a believer. May those who suffer from this disaster see where their true hope is in Christ and be able to rebuild their lives.
Wow, that looks like it was fierce. I'm praying for everyone. Safety and salvation for all!
By the way, hi! I read your blog ~smile~
Glad to hear that you guys are ok. When I heard about the storms I was concerned for you. The Lord protected you and for that we are thankful.
It's amazing how much damage tornadoes can do. We had one hit in a neighborhood close to us back in the 80's and practically all the houses were leveled. When the tornado hit I was in the bathroom and all four of my children were in the bathtub. I knew that it was close to us, because I heard the announcer on the radio. It hit about three blocks from our house. Too close! Love ya, Laura Renes

Oh no Caleb! That is not good news. I am so glad that you guys are safe though. We can praise the Lord for that.
Thinking and praying for you guys.
Scary! Glad to hear you all are safe!
Glad to hear ya'll are okay...the storms were pretty bad passing through Arkansas but I heard they got worse into Tennessee and Mississippi!
Caleb, I just wanted to let you know that Julie Boyer was one of the people trapped at Union, she was in a bathtub when the wall came down on top of her. She is doing okay, no broken bones just cuts and bruises.
I'm glad you guys are okay.

I'm glad you guys are safe too. This storm makes me think we are going to be in for a bad tornado season in OK too. I called my insurance agent to verify coverage!
