Teen retreat

This weekend Anna and I directed the Fall Teen Retreat at Horton Haven Christian Camp, the camp that I grew up attending as a child and teenager. We had about 50 kids and 15 staff. We played a lot of games and enjoyed some time at the new High Adventure Area (HAA); Anna and I even went down a zip-line which was about 45 feet in the air. Good times! It was also a good weekend of time in the Word and some good, challenging thoughts about discipleship which I hope to share later. Ty, a first-time camper at HHCC, talked to several of us and admitted that he knew about salvation, had no clue about his own eternal destination, and finally that he wasn't really concerned about it. You might be expecting some encouraging story, but that's how it ends. He went home today and will be moving to Washington DC soon with his family. He just drove home the point to me about how our job is be faithful to sow the Word, water and nuture, but only God gives new life. If you think of it, please pray for this little guy - that he would see the magnitude of his own sin and the limitless sacrifice of Christ, turn from sin to the Savior, and be saved.
