These are two photos from the Mid-South Fair that took place last week. We went on a cool, but sunny Thursday afternoon. Many people there and lots of things to see. We especially enjoyed viewing many types of cattle - something not to common in the urban setting in which we live. We passed on the fried Snickers, fried Oreos, and funnel cakes, but opted instead for purchasing some ice cream and a jar of local honey. It was more like a carnival than a fair, but it was entertaining. Anna even checked out a ride which she had ridden as a kid. Despite how happy she looks in the photo, it wasn't quite like the one she rode growing up and she was a bit queasy after it was over. She's visiting Ruth in OK for a couple of days and I'm trying to study a lot while she's gone for two exams I have this week. Also trying to get over a cold, but this virus has proved to be a formidable foe, not quickly eliminated. Back to the books, all for now. C

Wow, artsy good snapshot of A - glad ya'll had a good time. It's sad to me that Fried Anything seems to dominate Southern cooking. Like what Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee (R) has done to lose weight and promote healthy living in AR. But, fried or health, fairs like that are fun. Sorry you're still sick. Ugh. Look forward to seeing you soon, bro.
