I know it has been awhile since I posted, but I have some goodies. We had a relaxing and refreshing time with Anna's parents in the Midwest. Nothing like that Midwest steak, some fishing, lots of visiting and a wide-open schedule.
Today in the clinic, I was able to see some patients by myself. Saw a middle-aged smoker (80 pack year history) who complained of a cough and stated she wanted to quit smoking. Only when I asked her specificially did she causually mention she had chest pain when she tried to do some things around the house! She got a cardiac workup. Also saw a kid with Lyme disease. Classic presentation of erythema migrans I think. We treated him empirically as the serological test is only about 25% positive at the time of initial presentation. It was a very rewarding day in the clinic.
Okay, so you may be wondering what my schedule will be like for the next few months? I'll give you what I know in hopes it will help planning or praying.
